Are You Called to The Care of Souls?

Certified Pastoral Psychotherapy  professionally integrates spirituality and psychotherapy.  It is a unique discipline in mental healthcare.  This approach is offered by professionals with in-depth theological education and extensive education and training in clinical psychology.   In order to practice pastoral psychotherapy, a minister is certified by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (www.aapc.org).  Requirements leading to certification in AAPC are rigorous.   Certified Pastoral Counselors must also maintain licensure as determined by state requirements.

The American Association of Pastoral Counselors  organized in 1963 to establish  its structure and standards.  AAPC is a global leader in the  certification of academically prepared ministers, centers for pastoral counseling and training programs.  Serving in Church and Society, AAPC is recognized for its excellent approach  in healthcare.

Members of AAPC adhere to a thorough Code of Ethics to insure  delivery of high quality psychotherapy and other related services.

This is significant.   Care and counseling within  congregations and communities is now very complex.  There has been a huge increase in emotional  distress.  Many people struggle with trauma, depression, fear and anxiety, marriage and family conflicts, substance abuse and more.  Ministers  committed to the 'hope of their calling'  face enormous difficulties.  The Pastoral Care Specialist (PCS) Webinar prepares its participants to confidently face critical issues in this present age. You can locate the PCS application just below the sunflower link.

In the Pastoral Care Specialist Webinar, ministers will be renewed by a fresh awareness of God's healing presence.   Diligent participants will gain skill in the care of souls through rich discussions on brief and supportive counseling, pastoral diagnosis and application of pastoral care principles in the broader practice of ministry.  Our confidential small group is reflective in its understanding of the human condition.   Individual consultations are also included.  At completion of  this innovative webinar, participants will qualify for general membership in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (www.aapc.org).  To register, call 773.752.4769 or email grow@jchodge.com.
